When doing plastering training, you will learn  how to do Skimming, this is one of the basic but essential skills learnt on a plastering course. You may find that plastering training is much more fun than you first realised. Our Plastering courses will help you become a qualified plasterer and gain qualifications like NVQs and give you skills like dot and dabbing.  Dot and dabbing is done with plasterboard, a big part of plastering training because it involves wet plaster.

Qualified Plasterer or Tiler

Anyone can now be able to study for a plastering / Tiling NVQ. An NVQ is a national vocational qualification. In a plastering NVQ, the student will learn about the different types of renders, for example browning or sand and cement renders on brickwork.  When on a plastering NVQ course you will learn that there are two types of plaster, gypsum based and cement based. You will do practical tests on our plastering NVQ course. Industry authorities will set the standards of your plastering NVQ.

Once you have gained a NVQ level 2 in plastering  you can get a CSCS card or construction skills certification scheme card. There is a fee to pay for the card and an additional fee for the health and safety test. Before doing a plastering NVQ it is advisable for you to do some site work. Your plastering NVQ will be tested by an NVQ assessor.

There are many building contractors who require specialists in plastering and Tiling on north east buildings.
